ComeBackTag.com is a website that helps you recover lost belongings. Our platform also tracks the location of each scan, making it even easier for you to recover your lost items.
What is a ComeBack Tag™ ?
A ComeBack Tag™ is a label with a QR code printed on it. A QR code is a two-dimensional version of a barcode, typically made up of black and white pixel patterns. "QR" stands for "Quick Response", which refers to the instant access to the information hidden in the code.
How do I scan a ComeBack Tag™?
Most phones have a built-in QR Code reader or scanner. Open the camera app on your mobile phone and hold it over a Code for a few seconds until a notification pops up. If this doesn’t happen, check your settings and see if QR Code scanning is enabled. Still not working? Don’t worry, all you have to do now is install third-party QR Code readers from your app stores
What happens when my ComeBack Tag™ is scanned?
Anyone who finds an item with a ComeBack Tag™️ can scan it using their smartphone to be directed to a contact page where they can reach out to you and return your item.
What kind of information is shown when a ComeBack Tag™ is scanned?
Every ComeBack Tag™ redirects to a custom contact page. You can decide how you want to be contacted by the person that finds your lost item. Typically, you will include a phone number and/or email address.
How much does it cost to host my ComeBack Tags™?
Hosting your ComeBack Tags™ is free. You only pay for ComeBack Tags™ once when you buy them at one of our partner retailers.
Can I customize and change my contact information?
Yes. You can choose what kind of information you want to display to people that scan your ComeBack Tags™. This includes a custom image, thank you message, instructions on how to contact you to return your item. There are fields to include your phone number, email, address, or custom contact link.
Can I track the location of my ComeBack Tag™?
Yes. When someone scans your ComeBack Tag™, you will receive an automatic email notification with a Google Map link displaying the location where your item was scanned.
How do I know when someone scans my ComeBack Tag™?
When someone scans your ComeBack Tag™, you will receive an automatic email notification with a Google Map link showing the location where your item was scanned.
How accurate are the scanned locations?
It depends. When a user scans your ComeBack Tag™, they will be asked to share their location. If they agree, you will receive a very accurate location. If they don't agree, we can still track their approximate location but with less accuracy.
Can anyone find my ComeBack Tag™ contact pages on the Internet?
No. Your ComeBack Tag™ contact pages are only shown to people that scan your tags.
How long are ComeBack Tags™ valid for?
Hosting your ComeBack Tags™ is free for the first 2 years from the time that they are activated. You will be sent an email before the end of 2 years with the option to renew the tag for a nominal fee.
